BSP declared list of 58 candidates for Delhi Elections 2013

BSP declared its most awaited list of candidates for Delhi assembly elections. In the first list, party announced candidates from 58 constituencies. Most of these candidates are people who worked on these constituencies as prabhari for more than 2-3 years. The only female candidate of Bahujan Samaj Party, Ritu Singh is fighting against CM Sheila Dikshit from New Delhi Constituency. BSP state president Brahm Singh will fight from Okhla constituency. Dalit Doctor alleges he was beaten up by Mulayam’s brother-in-law

A doctor here has alleged that he was beaten up by a relative of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his men over a trivial issue of vehicle parking. Pawan Pratap Singh, a state government doctor, said he had parked his car last evening near the house of Mulayam’s brother-in-law Ajant Singh Yadav in the Friends Colony area. Three arrested for Banki gang rape

Three persons were arrested for allegedly raping a tribal woman in Kuamada village near Banki, police said on Monday. The 27-year-old woman was rescued from a forest in a critical condition on Sunday evening. The accused, Gundicha Samal, 30, Abhay Pradhan, 26, and Krupasindhu Jena, 30, are liquor sellers from Athagarh. The youths used to procure liquor from a trader in Banki and sold it in villages of Athagarh. The Dalit Sangharsh Samiti has demanded suspension of police sub-inspector Hussaini Pasha attached to Gulbarga University police station for allegedly misbehaving with and using abusive language against senior Dalit leader Arjun Bhadre, without any provocation . The police registered a case against a medical officer, a dentist and a lab technician on the charge of humiliating a woman contract worker belonging to Scheduled Tribe at the Community Health Centre at Shirva in Udupi district. The police on Monday arrested three persons for allegedly gangraping a Dalit woman a day earlier in Odisha’s Cuttack district. The incident triggered outrage in the area with locals blocking a state highway demanding action against the culprits and free medical care and compensation for the victim. Despite being told by the state education department on June 30, 2011, to follow the central government’s reservation policy strictly while recruiting teaching staff in the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and other backward classes ( OBC) categories, Calcutta University (CU) is yet to heed to the order. Manual scavengers’ children listed under disadvantaged group

The government has decided to include children of manual scavenger under the disadvantage group for facilitating their education in private unaided schools. “The management of private unaided schools will admit such children within 15 per cent of seats earmarked for children belonging to the disadvantaged group. They will also prepare plan for such children with regard to their coverage in special training,” said School and Mass Education Department in a notification.
