A doctor here has alleged that he was beaten up by a relative of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his men over a trivial issue of vehicle parking. Pawan Pratap Singh, a state government doctor, said he had parked his car last evening near the house of Mulayam’s brother-in-law Ajant Singh Yadav in the Friends Colony area. The spiral of violence triggered by killings last month spread to Muzaffarnagar’s far flung rural areas on Sunday, killing 16 more people, taking the number of those consumed by the conflagration to 27.
