Accelerate pace of development works —Hon’ble Chief Minister ji
Stringent action will be initiated against guilty if quality of construction works not maintained
Ensure benefit of development and public welfare programmes for poor and weaker sections on priority basis
Directing officers to accelerate the pace of development works, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati ji said that lack of quality in construction works would attract severe punishment. She directed that the pending development works should be completed on priority basis, so that the people could be benefited. She said that the benefit of various development and public welfare programmes should be provided to poor and weaker sections on priority basis.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister ji gave these directions when the Cabinet Secretary Mr. Shashank Shekhar Singh and Chief Secretary Mr. Anoop Mishra apprised her of the outcome of the review meeting held with the Principal Secretaries/Secretaries at the Yojana Bhawan here today. She said that those development schemes for which the funds had been released should be completed in a time-bound and qualitative manner. She directed the senior officers to conduct spot verification to ensure effective implementation of various development schemes/programmes.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister ji directed the officers to ensure development of area-wise special fruit belts, so that the production of fruits could be encouraged in the State. She said that this strategy had been adopted in various areas previously, but new areas should also be identified as special horticulture areas to increase the income of the farmers. Besides, considering the consumption of vegetables in Lucknow city area, the farming of vegetables should be encouraged in the adjoining areas of the city. Likewise, the same should be encouraged around the adjoining areas of
large cities. She directed the officers to ensure proper arrangement for the storage of food grains, fruits and vegetables.
Directing officers to encourage poultry farming in the State, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that all possible help should be provided to the farmers to increase their income through animal husbandry and milk production. She directed the officers to ensure that there was no paucity of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and agricultural inputs.
Directing officers to ensure easy availability of crop loans, she said that the farmers should be distributed Kisan Credit Cards by holding camps. Referring to the better management of animal fairs being held in various regions, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that the complaints of misuse of these fairs was also pouring in. She directed the officers to check
the cruelty being handed out to the animals in the name of animal fairs. She said that U.P. is an agriculture dominated State so the livestock could not be ignored.
Reviewing the works of Sports Department, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that the sports facilities in the villages should be increased. She directed the Sports Department to stop all unnecessary constructions being carried out by it. Reviewing the situation of flood control in the State, she said that though there was no indication of floods so far, yet all preparations of fighting floods and to carry out relief and rescue works should be streamlined. She directed the Chief Secretary to hold weekly meeting to review flood situation. She directed to set up a State level flood control room.
Directing officers to ensure effective implementation of flood control action plan, she said that the sensitive embankments should be identified and guarded with special attention. The Hon’ble Chief Minister ji directed the officers to upgrade the health services of the State, so that people got health facilities easily. She directed to ensure availability of all necessary medicines in the government hospitals of the State. Keeping an eye on the outbreak of infectious disease in the rainy season, she asked the officers to ensure that cleanliness was maintained in rural and urban areas. She said that maximum utilisation of available health resources should be ensured. She said that the official norms of attending to patients and conducting operation should be adhered to.
Emphasising the need to benefit students through various scholarship schemes in a timely manner, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that any irregularity in the distribution of scholarships would not be tolerated. She said that after the verification of beneficiaries of various pension schemes, the amounts should be credited in their bank accounts immediately. Directing officers to immediately release the amount being paid to the beneficiaries of U.P. Mukhyamantri Mahamaya Garib Arthik Madad Yojana, she reviewed the progress of Savitri Bai Phule Balika Shiksha Madad Yojana and Mahamaya Garib Balika Ashirwad Yojana. She directed the officers to ensure that the development works being carried out in Bundelkhand region were completed in a qualitative and time-bound manner. Directing officers to conduct plantation programme as a drive, she said that the protection of the planted saplings should be ensured.
