Hon’ble Chief Minister ji reviews law and order situation of the State

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati ji intensively reviewed law and order situation of the State on Thursday and Friday at high-level meetings held at her official residence. The Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, DGP, Special DGP (law and order) and other senior officers were present in these meetings.
Giving strict orders to check atrocities and harassment on women and girls and the murders which took place in some districts due to personal enmity, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that the FIR of incidents taking place with women, irrespective of their class and community, should be filed immediately and the guilty should be arrested. Besides,
she said that if the case was complicated then a maximum of 10 days should be taken to solve it and the guilty should be punished. Referring to the incidents happening with women and children, she said that if a criminal was not traceable within 10 days, then legal action should be initiated as per the rules and if needed his property should be attached as well.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that if a police officer or an employee was found conniving with the criminals to
manipulate the incident and implicated innocent people falsely then the guilty should be immediately suspended. If
the misdeed of the police personnel was proven, then he should be dismissed from the service. Besides, if the incident
was of serious nature, then the police officer/personnel should be sent to jail under relevant sections. Similar punitive action should be taken against doctors protecting criminals in the incidents occurring with women.
Directing the officers to deploy police force on public places frequented by women, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji said that the district and tehsil-level police officers should keep an eye on the police patrolling. She said that if the police personnel were found guilty in the crimes against women then they should be dismissed from the services as per the rules and sent to jail as well. The Dy. SPs of those police circles where the crime against women showed upward trend, would be given adverse entries and their promotion would be put on hold and if needed they would be demoted
as well. Likewise, if incidents against women and girls showed rise in a district then similar action would be taken
against the DM/SP/SSP/DIG.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister ji has directed the officers to hold high-level meetings at government-level on every
Sunday with the officers of recently divided West, Central and Poorvanchal Zones, so that knowledge of latest law and
order situation could be gathered with a view to making improvement and effective monitoring on this front. In these
meetings, Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary, Additional Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, DGP and
Special DGP would remain present.
Taking serious note of Mumbai serial blasts, the Hon’ble Chief Minister ji has directed the officers to remain vigilant
and alert, so that such incidents could not take place in the State. Besides, she directed the officers to coordinate with
intelligence agencies of Central Government to ensure effective exchange of information without any lapse in this
regard. She said that timely and stringent action should be taken against the persons and anti-social elements, who
indulge in disturbing the peaceful atmosphere and communal harmony of the State.
